SALA, in collaboration with The Rainbow Room Foundation, presents Rabbit’s Tale, the world premiere of a new side of Thai pianist and composer Nat Yontararak’s work: a piano suite inspired by the imagination and emotions of childhood.
At its heart is the story of a little rabbit determined to run away from his mother — imagining himself as a fish, a mountain and a bird — only to discover that wherever he goes, his mother will always find a way to protect him.
Inspired by melodies composed by Kamolvan Punyashthiti and reimagined for solo piano by Nat Yontararak, the performance brings the story to life through piano, singing, narration and traditional Thai instruments. Moving between humour, playfulness, excitement and tenderness, Rabbit’s Tale is created to be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
