This captivating recital by Italian pianist Ida Pelliccioli traces a rich musical path from the Iberian Peninsula to the heart of the Classical tradition in Vienna. The program brings together the vivid energy of Domenico Scarlatti, the expressive clarity of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and the lyrical depth of Franz Schubert—three towering figures of keyboard literature—while also shining a light on the rediscovered genius of Manuel Blasco de Nebra, a lesser-known Spanish composer whose music bridges Baroque ornamentation and Classical elegance.

At the heart of the recital lies Blasco de Nebra’s refined and imaginative keyboard writing. Sometimes referred to as the “Spanish Scarlatti,” his sonatas reveal a unique voice rooted in the expressive traditions of his native Seville, yet already leaning toward the Viennese ideals of balance, phrasing, and harmonic clarity.
