Carlo Fierens truly represents the pride of Italy as a guitarist. Known for his lyrical sensitivity, his performances have been well praised by the music critics both Italy and abroad: “Fierens well captures contrasts, sudden changes of writing, returning a rich sound, now bitter, now sweet, in a phrase and a "breath" of the time of execution already very aware.” (La Stampa, Italy); “Fierens plays this challenging pieces perfectly with his solid technique.” (Gendai Guitar Magazine, Japan). Carrying numerous first prizes from many world renown competitions, this led him to be awarded with “Honorary Associate of The National Academy of Music” by the International Music Prizes Competition (USA). In 2013, he won the “Italian National Prize for the Arts”, a prize awarded by the Ministry of Education to the best music student of the year, among all conservatories and schools of music. He is a founding member of the new “Quartetto Paganini”, which focuses on the rediscovery of the repertoire for guitar and string trio, specializing in the works by Niccolò Paganini. Currently, he is full time professor at the Potenza Conservatory in Italy.
Carlo Fierens plays Mario Garrone guitars and uses Aquila strings and Concerto Carbon Cases.
